Save the Children UK Indonesia: JOB VACANCY - WEST TIMOR

Save the Children (SCUK) is a leading international NGO working to create a better world for children. We are seeking experienced national staff to work for a primary education project in NTT funded by AusAID as part of the Australian Governmentâ€(tm)s official overseas aid program.

Project Coordinator
(Code: PC-NTT, 1 post in West Sumba and 1 post in Kupang, West Timor)

The post holder reports to Education Advisor and is responsible for planning, developing, supervising, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the project in either West Sumba or West Timor to ensure effective implementation of the programme and its compliance with SCUKâ€(tm)s mission objectives.

MAIN DUTIES:
§ Develop and implement strategies to ensure clear guidance and standards for all Education programme staff and their compliance with project proposals
§ Contribute to maintaining effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems (including documentation of activities), to ensure the effectiveness of project implementation
§ Develop, maintain and improve mutual and beneficial relationships with local Government officials, INGOâ€(tm)s and LNGOâ€(tm)s
§ Manage project budget as delegated (including budget preparation, monitoring, review and revision) in accordance with prevailing SCUK and donor compliance requirements
§ Develop timely progress reports (including drafting donor reports, and progress reports) for donors and SCUK Indonesia, in order to ensure the provision of accurate and updated information

REQUIREMENTS:

§ University Degree (S1) in relevant field, Masterâ€(tm)s preferable
§ Minimum of three (3) years experience in managing large development programmes
§ Experience of working in the field of education, preferably primary education
§ Experience in developing, maintaining and improving relationships with local government and NGOs
§ Proven skills in financial and staff management
§ Proven skills in project development and report writing

Senior Project Officer (Code: SPO-WT, 1 post in Kupang, West Timor)

One position available based in Kupang, West Timor. The post holder reports to Project Coordinator and is responsible for planning, developing, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of education project activities in the field to ensure effective implementation and compliance with SCUKâ€(tm)s mission objectives.

MAIN DUTIES:
§ To plan, organise, coordinate, facilitate, monitor and evaluate the day to day implementation of education activities in the project to ensure effectiveness and maintain good quality and consistency of work
§ To implement effective monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure effective delivery of project activities
§ Develop the capacity of SCUK staff and key stakeholders in order to ensure the sustainability of the programme and provide advice on education matters during project implementation
§ Develop progress reports periodically (including monthly reports, drafting donor reports)

REQUIREMENTS:
§ University Degree (S1) in relevant field, Masterâ€(tm)s preferable
§ Minimum of three (3) years experience in community and child-focused projects
§ Experience and proven skills in project and staff management
§ Experience in developing, maintaining and improving relationships with local government
§ Experience of pedagogy at primary level, active teaching and learning processes and adult training activities

General requirements for all positions include: an understanding of education and child protection issues, preferably in NTT; excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills (both in English and Bahasa Indonesia); and strong numeracy and analytical skills, including excellent computer and database skills.
